Authorized Representative
in Portugal
Authorized Services

Waste Trends provides the service of Authorized Representative in Portugal to product producers, packers/fillers, or service packaging suppliers, according to Decree-Law 152-D/2017, in the following cases:

​

  • Established in another EU member state selling its products in Portugal

  • Established in another EU member state or in a third country selling its products through communication techniques directly to end-users in Portugal

The Authorized Services are applicable and available to the following streams:

  • Packaging

  • Electric and Electronic Equipment

  • Batteries and Accumulators

  • Vehicles

  • Lubricant Oils

  • Tires

Our services for authorized representative obligations help to make sure that all products and packaging, within the Extended Producer Responsibility scope, are registered and reported correctly. Services include:

  1. Appointment and Onboarding

  • Nomination of the Authorized Representative by mandate

​

  • Registration of the producer, packer/filler, or service packaging supplier within the Portuguese environmental agency platform and obtain the registered enrolment number/evidence

​

  • Adherence to the selected compliance scheme

​

  • Performing all contracts and administrative arrangements

2. Data Management and Declarations

  • Annual declaration(s) to the registry per stream and answering any requests by the Portuguese environmental authorities.

​

  • Reporting the periodic declarations to the compliance scheme(s), as per contractual obligations

​

  • Provide the producer, packer/filler, or service packaging supplier with all the relevant information concerning the execution of the mandate of the Authorized Representative, including notably any modification of the applicable laws, terms, and conditions of the producer, packer/filler, or service packaging supplier obligations

3. Financial Administration

  • Payments, if applicable, to the Register Entity on behalf of the producers, packers/fillers, or service packaging suppliers

  • Payments, if existing, to the Compliance Scheme(s) on behalf of the producers, packers/fillers, or service packaging suppliers

4. Extra Services
 

  • Submission of declaration of rectification declaration of retroactivity, etc.

​

  • Acting on behalf of the producer in compliance schemes audits

​

  • Revision and evaluation of the producer, packer/filler, or service packaging supplier raw data and data crushing

​

  • Other, as needed by the producers, packers/fillers, or service packaging suppliers.
